A link to your working J3 site doesn't help us track down problems with your J5 Error 500.
What we need is the actual error, which can be obtained by turning on Debug and/or PHP error reporting.
Those settings are active according to the FPA report : Error Reporting: maximum | Site Debug: true, so if you had been able to post the errors seen on screen in J5,we'd have a better sense of what was going on.
It would be easier to change file permissions in an FTP program - CHMOD the folders 755 and files 644, and the configuration.phgp to 444.
